A small Ottoman mescit of 1618–19 by Famagusta's Land Gate.
What to see at Akkule
- A small mescit of cut stone whose crooked, trapezoid plan follows the Venetian walls it was built against.
- Plaster-lattice windows, an arched door with a marble slab dated 1618/19 above it, and a mihrab with a stalactite niche inside.
- Its flat roof is carried on a single arch.
History of Akkule

Visiting Akkule
Allow about half an hour. Akkule stands inside the walls of Gazimağusa (Famagusta), by the Land Gate (Kara Kapısı). A car park is mapped about 50 m away, and the nearest mapped bus stop is the İtimat bus terminal, about 200 m away.
